Child Labour is a pervasive problem throughout the world, especially in developing countries like India. Africa and Asia together account for over 90% of total child employment. Children work for a variety of reasons, the most important being poverty and the induced pressure upon them to contribute to family income. Problems like inaccessibility of schools in the vicinity or the lack of quality education also contribute to Child Labour. Working children suffer extreme deprivation and exploitation, working for long hours for minimal pay, not having access to basic amenities like health, education, nutrition.
