Abstract :

Vikram seth’s variety of handling the themes and techniques works as a catalyst to understand his writings easily. His introduction of one theme leading to another theme is appreciated by many critics and also made his as one of the best Diaspora writer of the day. The present essay titled: “Variety of Themes: A Study on Vikram Seth’s “The Golden Gate” focuses light on the themes elevated in the novel. He made a significant contribution to enrich Indian English novel with respect to both themes and techniques. There is a compelling lucidity and simplicity in his writing which is a hall mark of great writers. He has succeeded in bringing the characters so fully to life.
