Abstract :

It might shock no one, yet the city has fared the most noticeably awful among seven noteworthy metro urban areas in the state, including Pune, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Nashik. This was found subsequent to testing air quality for suspended particulate matter and contamination [by vehicular traffic] in the middle of January and December 2013 . As indicated by the figures in the Economic Survey of Maharashtra 2013-14, taken from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, the respiratory suspended particulate matter (RSPM), which are air-borne particles, found the middle value of at 137.9 microgram for every cubic centimeter (ug/m3) and achieved a most extreme of 428 ug/m3.
