EFFECT OF MN DOPING ON STRUCTURAL, MORPHOLOGICAL AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF CO O THIN FILMS

In the present work efforts have been made to report the comparative studies of Co O and 3 4 Mn: thin films. The films were deposited on steel substrate by using sol-gel spin coating method. The deposited films annealed at 8900C. The XRD patterns of the films showed good crystalline behaviour, in the doped X-ray pattern a peak corresponding to secondary phase (MnO ) is 2 observed. SEM micrographs revealed the incorporation of manganese changes the surface morphology of Co O films. It is 3 4 also observed that films are highly porous in nature. The Cyclic Voltammetry showed improved specific apacitance after doping. The CV test using 0.1M KOH electrolyte showed maximum specific capacitance of 491 Fg-1 for pure cobalt oxide and 540 Fg-1 for Mn doped thin film at scan rate of 10 mV/s.
