The framework of present study is based on Marcia (1966) model of identity development. The conceptualization of this model is based on the Erikson’s (1959/1980) identity development. Review from the past shows a very little research done on identity and religion. Few studies credit that religion positively correlates with identity formation during youth. In this study, crisis and commitments taken as basic constructs of identity development, the four levels identified out of the intersection of these two basic constructs. The present study based on these four levels with an aim to study religious identity development among the young female adult college teachers of Delhi and NCR. The significant result obtained .
